So, I’ve taken the “like” button off the sidebar thingy. It was previously on the lower right of the site. It’s all somewhat inspired by this article on the Guardian website, which I read weeks ago and forgot to process. Here’s the helpful bit:

What most people don’t know is that the Like button tracks your browsing history. Every time you visit a web page that displays the Like button, Facebook logs that data in your account. It doesn’t put anything on your wall, but it knows where you’ve been. This happens even if you log out of Facebook. Like buttons are pretty much ubiquitous on mainstream websites, so every time you visit one you’re doing some frictionless sharing. Did you opt in to this? Only by registering your Facebook account in the first place. Can you turn it off? Only by deleting your account. (And you know how easy that is.)

If you still want to “like” this page on FB, there’s a link to the left that you can use to get to the Facebook page, and then you can click “like.”

I feel strange putting this online, but I feel like you should know what’s going on.

Tomorrow my girlfriend and my very good friend are getting married. Asexual Awareness Week starts on Sunday, and I’ve promised to do extra comics and auction off gloves. But my mother just called to tell me that my father’s dead, and I don’t know what to do.

I need to go back to my mum’s, and I might need to stay there for quite a while. I don’t have a queue of comics or anything, and my mum’s place is 3 hours away on the train, so I can’t really make comics while I’m away. I don’t know how I’m going to have time to make enough comics before I go.

So, I wanted to say that the comics might go a bit weird over the next few weeks, and I’m sorry.

Sunday 23rd to Sunday 29th October is Asexual Awareness Week. This is a subject close to my heart, so I thought I’d give you all a very brief rundown of asexuality from my point of view.

• Asexual people are not sexually attracted to other people.
• Asexual people can still have high sex drives, active sex lives and romantic relationships, though not all do – it’s all down to communication.
• Asexual people can be any gender, and anyone who tries to tell me that all asexuals are women will be mercilessly slapped around the head with a fish by yours truly.

I feel like those are the most important points.

I’ll also be auctioning off some ace flag handwarmers to raise some cash for AAW to buy a documentary, and posting three comics for Ace Awareness Week instead of two, just because of reasons.
